Though I love reading, I’m not really into self-improvement and positive thinking books. Because (in my opinion) I find them silly and not realistic. But, it is different with The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F***, as it got favorable reviews and many of my friends recommended it to me. Provoked by my curiosity and the desire to know the reason behind why people speak highly of the book, I decided to read it. Surprisingly, I found the book quite interesting! It is completely different from what we used to see in self-improvement books, which often prompt us to think positively to accomplish a happy and rich life. Furthermore, in this book the writer invites us to accept the negative things that we face in our lives, and how to overcome them rightly, according to our abilities and potentials. Plus it is very normal to make mistakes, because through them we learn and our experience in life increases. So we can keep living our life no matter what happens. As we all know, there's no such thing as a life without pain, difficulties and problems. In addition, the book provides clear and straight ideas/thoughts. And it was written in a smooth and interesting style; even the stories were properly chosen. To conclude, I highly recommend this book to everyone, in order to learn that in life we will encounter many obstacles and hard times and that life is not always “pink.” I am not going to say more; I will let you find out what I am talking about. “Slumdog Millionaire” is one of the most memorable movies that I have ever seen. I still remember this film because I have learned a lot from it such as, how to be more optimistic, social and patient. I also learned that I can change my attitude to the better and to believe that I’m able to change because the greatest obstacle between us and our goals is ourselves or our inability to trust in what we are able to do. The plot of the film is about a guy who lives in a “slum” area of India and he applied for the TV show, “The Millionaire.” While on the show he answered all of the questions correctly. The people of the show thought he was cheating because it was hard to believe that a non-educated person could know so much information. In fact, through his interactions and experiences in life he knew the answers. He won and that is why the movie is called “Slumdog Millionaire.” I have seen this film many times and I still love to watch it. I would advise you to see it, too. You will enjoy it as much as I do.
